We visited the conference “Conversion and reconstruction of buildings: how to preserve history and create a new identity” organized by Structum, which talked about the “rebirth” of old buildings and their adaptation to new stages of life. Lithuanian and foreign architects presented their most impressive, award-winning building conversion projects, which provided an opportunity to breathe new life into empty historical structures.
👉 The following architects 🎤 speakers presented their most interesting architectural conversions at the conference:
• Gilma Teodora Gylytė
Architect, one of the founders of architecture studio DO ARCHITECTS. Nominated for the European Mies van der Rohe Award for contemporary architecture projects, repeatedly won the main prizes at the Lithuanian Contemporary Architecture Awards.
• Aurimas Sasnauskas
Architect, partner of architecture and interior design studio A2SM. Currently, he is participating in the revival of the “Lelijos” sewing complex in the new city of Vilnius – one of the largest technology and creative industries campuses in Europe is being built here.
• Daina Ferguson and James Norman Ferguson
, UAB “Senojo miesto architektai” architects, whose project – Signatarų namai won the award for the best management project for a part of an immovable cultural heritage object.
Thanks to them, it was really very interesting 🙂
🍂 And of course, we received a new issue of STRUCTUM as a gift!
